Photo: Marco Del GrandeAustralia’s baristas have battled it out and now the country’s coffee roasters will get the opportunity to find out who’s the best in the business. The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria has announced it will run an international coffee roasting competition in the lead up to the 2013 World Barista Championships to be held in Melbourne in May.

Roasters who sign up will compete from May 7 to May 9 at the Melbourne Showgrounds. RASV chief executive Mark O’Sullivan said the competition would be open to local and international roasters.

All entries to the Australian International Coffee Awards close on Wednesday April 24 and winners will be announced on Thursday May 23rd.
